For the past 10 days we’ve been counting down the hottest learns from our conferences, as voted by you!
Day 1- Be Human!
Don’t just advertise your product or service on social media, show your followers the people behind your brand. Put faces to names and let your audience take a peek behind the scenes. Humanizing your company can help you stand out from your competitors.
Day 2 – If you’re talking to everyone, you’re talking to no one
The biggest disservice you can do is offer “something for everyone.” As consumers, we want to feel like a product or service was made just for us. Marketing your organization to a more narrow audience may alienate some people, but when it hits the right target you’ll have a customer for life.
Day 3 – Sticky Content
What is sticky content? Ask yourself: “What’s the one thing I provide my customers that is absolutely unforgettable? The piece that changes their life, takes weight off their shoulders and nails their pain point?”
Day 4 – Content Pillars
What are content pillars? These three-four words are the core of your business and represent your values and passion. Some common content pillars are: Educate, Entertain and Inspire.
Day 5 – Categories
Armed with your content pillars, you can now determine your content categories. These are the types of topics you are publishing: lists, how-to’s, facts and stats.
Day 6 – Algorithms
In a nutshell, social platform algorithms are based on three basic principles:
Recency – How long ago you published a post
Relevancy – How relevant your posts are to your audience
Engagement – How your audience reacts to posts you’ve published (likes, comments and shares)
Day 7 – Analyze
Deliver content that resonates and be strategic. Find out and pay attention to what content engages your audience.
Day 8 – Mobile Photo & Video
Five steps before snapping that IG-worthy pic:
1. Wipe off your lens!! (Seriously, do it.)
2. Assess light quality
3. Take a step back
4. Think about composition (horizontal or vertical)
5. Don’t forget exposure & focus
Day 9 – Be human (again!)
Swap the B2C and B2B designations for an overarching H2H (human to human) mentality. We are humans connecting, communicating and transacting with fellow humans.
Day 10 – Changes are fast and constant
Digital marketing, unfortunately, isn’t a “one-and-done” kind of thing. Algorithms, analytics and everything in between are constantly changing. Knowing the current trends will help set your business apart.
